The build
The TEKIMAX-sponsored team shipped a working financial intelligence platform: production-grade architecture, real data, and engineering decisions documented through the build. The platform integrates four core modules into a single workflow, with a language model built into it. The work reflects the depth that CS5351 demands of its student teams.
The documentation, structural thinking and engineering discipline on display at the Expo reflect the standard Dr. Klyne Smith, Dr.Eng., has set inside CS5351. For TEKIMAX the engagement was also instructive: senior design programmes run on tight scoping, weekly cadence and hard delivery dates, disciplines a small applied-engineering studio benefits from observing up close.

What they built
Four core modules, one cohesive system.
- Burn rate tracking
- Real-time monitoring of capital expenditure with live data feeds and configurable alert thresholds.
- Cash runway forecasting
- Predictive modelling for runway scenarios, giving founders visibility into their survival horizon.
- Double-entry ledger
- A proper accounting backbone. Every transaction balanced, auditable and structurally sound.
- A language model in the workflow
- AI-powered financial analysis and natural-language querying built directly into the platform, on an open enterprise model.
Engineers of record
The financial intelligence platform was designed, built, documented and shipped by the following CS5351 student engineers.
- Alonso Gurrola
- Inzwi Zunga
- Joaquin Rivas-Vazquez
- Eddie Kayizzi
Partnership outlook
University programmes are the long-horizon investment in the engineering workforce: the curriculum, the faculty, the labs, and the standards a student team is held to before entering industry. The role of an industry partner is narrower and complementary: contribute a real problem, stay close to the build, and create early pathways from applied coursework into professional engineering practice.
The CS5351 engagement is the first of several university partnerships TEKIMAX intends to support. Universities running senior design, capstone or applied-engineering programmes that are seeking an industry partner are encouraged to make contact. The intent is collaboration with multiple programmes across institutions.
